Sponsored by the Westlake Village Art Guild, hosted by the City of
Agoura Hills’ Cultural Arts Council and supported by the Rotary Club of
Thousand Oaks, the purpose of the 2014 Student Awards Juried Art Show is
to encourage and recognize, in a meaningful way, the dedicated teachers
and talented students that enrich all communities in the region.
Open to high school juniors and seniors residing or attending school in
the Greater Conejo Valley, this show typically attracts over 300 entries
from more than 100 students. Each entry is evaluated by three qualified
jurors on the following equally weighted criteria:
• Technical execution
• Overall visual impact
Only the top scoring entries in each show category, as determined by the
jurors, will be invited to exhibit and compete for a minimum of 17
awards and $1,250 in cash prizes.
The 2014 Student Awards Juried Show categories will include:
• 2-D Fine Art – Includes oil, acrylic, water
media, pastel, pencil,
ink, encaustic, monoprints,
scratchboard, mixed media, etc.
• 3-D Fine Art – Includes ceramics, sculptures
and fused glass
• Photography & Digital - MONOCHROME
• Photography & Digital –COLOR
An additional category (or categories) may be added dependent upon the
mix of entries and number in each category.

Gallery Hours: April 5 thru April 26, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
Monday through Saturday and by appointment.
• Artists 18 years of age and older are eligible to enter.
• Maximum of 3 works per artist. This is a juried show and all work
subject to acceptance by the Judge(s). Show entry is
• No wet paint.
• Only wired work (no saw tooth hangers).
• Professionally Finished (appropriate framing or standard
• All work must be original and created by the submitting artist
and not done under supervision.
• Source materials, including photographs, must be the artists’
• Maximum dimensions 60” x 60”. Maximum weight is 60 pounds.
• No work previously hung at a WVAG show.
• All artists accepted into the show are required to sit/staff the

age of 78 are exempt from this requirement.
• All work subject to a 30% commission fee (20% to City of T.O.
and 10% to WVAG).
• No copies or reproductions accepted.
As a juried show, all work is subject to acceptance based on the Judges’
scores for each peiece submitted. Show entry is not guaranteed. The WVAG
reserves the right to accept only the works that reflect it’s high
standards. Awards are limited to one per artist.
