Ray Chavez
          
Ray was born and has lived most of his life in Southern California. In his early youth he started painting and drawing and was encouraged by his family, especially his mother who is also very talented.

Sunlight is his favorite element to paint and he often paints outdoors.

He plans to paint a huge painting of Niagara Falls and the Grand Canyon and explore more places in the Southwest.

With his impressionist style he captures the essence of whatever he paints. "Anything that moves me, I like to bring out. I try to connect with the viewer, to touch them in some kind of way." says Ray.

Background

Ray studied at West Los Angeles College and the Art Academy of Los Angeles. He is a member of the California Art Club, Oil Painters of America , Culver City Art Group, Valley Art Guild and Pacific Art Guild.

He has been commissioned to paint various subject matter. His paintings are in the homes and offices of many collectors.
