                   Bill Anderson

In 1995 the Anderson Art Gallery opened it's doors on Pacific Coast Highway in Sunset Beach, California. Over these years they have combined the work of California Art with Mexican Art. Bill believes "our gallery is very unique for several reasons" which he explains below.

I was an art teacher in public schools for 38 years and have been a working artist my entire life. I am a painter using oils, acrylics and watercolor as well as a printmaker, sculptor potter and black and white photographer. Therefore I understand each of the processes we represent in the gallery. The living artists we represent are people I know and work with as fellow artists. Example; Raul Anguiano and I have drawn and painted together hundreds of times since 1973. Milford Zornes and I have painted together one day a week for ten years. Each of the other artists are colleagues I have worked with on occasion. I am more of a teacher of art rather than a SALES person.

We have had solo and group exhibitions consistently over the years and have been involved in sponsoring several exhibitions and activities outside the gallery as well. We are not a typical high pressure sales gallery. We also are very clear about the difference between ORIGINAL PRINTMAKING as compared with REPRODUCTIONS which are often passed off as original signed, limited edition originals. We are concerned about the long term reputations of our artists integrity as well as the integrity of the gallery.

Bill and his wife Ausma manage the gallery together.
