Ann Krasner
In 1997, Ann Krasner graduated with her
M.B.A. from the University of La Verne. By then, major museums, art
galleries, art dealers, and art collectors showed an incredible interest in
Ann’s artwork. In the 34th Annual Jury show in Malibu, Ann won Best in Show
& People’s Choice vote. By 1998, Ann created over four hundred paintings,
achieved: The Artist’s Magazine, Finalist International Annual; Frederick R.
Weisman Museum of Art Best in Acrylic/Oil; acceptance to the Art in
Embassies Program of the U.S. Department of the State.
The end of the 20th century brought Ann worldwide recognition. She won the
International Competition sponsored by the Art Calendar Magazine; exhibited
in the Salon des Artistes Francais, Paris, France; and became an artist in
Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Art rental and sales gallery. Three months
after the birth of her son Benjamin, Ann left for Paris where she had an
exhibition at Galerie du Toit de la Grande Arche de la Defense. Ann’s work
was shown in six museums and even more galleries throughout the United
States.
Ann tried her strength in sculpture, created costumes for the Malibu Civic
Ballet Company, and she participated in creation of 500 feet mural, which
will be a part of permanent installation in the new World Trade Center in
New York.
In 2004 Ann had an exhibition in Museum Center RSHU and The Pushkin State
Museum of fine Arts in Moscow, Russia. Krasner’s work was exhibited in
Gallari Gunnrammet of Stockholm, Sweden, San Diego Art Institute, CA; Laguna
Art Museum, Schacknow Museum of Fine Art, FL, Gilcrease Museum, Tulsa, and
Pacific Design Center in L.A. In 2005 Ann had 5 one-women shows and numerous
appearances of her work in the museums. Special recognition was received
from San Diego Museum of Art chief Curator Scott Atkinson during Fine Art
Festival. Another highlight was a MOMA, NY radio/internet production with
WPSI, with Elle Attlee.
Krasner’s collection was exhibited in 2006 during art reception in National
Art Museum of Catalonia, Barcelona, Spain. Then Ann’s work was presented at
Bridge Art Fair, London, England. In 2007 Ann becomes an official artist
representing Telluride Jazz Festival, over 50 pieces were created to
celebrate Jazz and it’s musicians. Personal exhibitions of Krasner’s work
took place in Gallery Piquel, N.Y., NY; Neal Elinoff Gallery, Telluride, CO;
Don O’Melveny Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; Gallerie Barjur, Mammoth, CA; Stuart
Gallery, Encino, CA – retrospective collection; Finegood Gallery;
Contemporary Art Gallery, La Jolla, CA. Ann’s work was represented in
Gilcrease Museum, Tulsa, OK – American Art in Miniature 2006, 2007.
2008 came with a grand opening at New Year Eve Celebration with Ann’s one
women show on the main town Square of Telluride, Ellinoff Gallery. The work
Optimistic Outlook was selected from thousands of contemporary pieces from
29 countries for San Diego Art Institute & Museum, Biennial International
Exhibition. During the Summer, Krasner’s new work – oil miniatures, were
exhibited in Lincoln Center, NY in collaboration with ADGT.
Ann found another passion – portraits.
2009 brought Ann a new baby boy. On January 13, a 6 month, 35 pieces
exhibition opened in Thousand Oaks Performing Art Center. Irina Nevscky
Gallery in San Francisco began exhibiting Ann’s work, numerous commissions,
along with current exhibitions, made her year a very exiting one.

Background
Ann Krasner was born on January 17, 1967, the youngest child of Ninel and
Alexander Kan, in Moscow, USSR. She grew up in an environment interested in
science, music, photography, ballet, and theater.
1973-84 Ann was chosen to study ballet at the Bolshoy Theater Ballet Studio
for Children. Simultaneously, she was accepted to the Moscow n 24 Music
School to the class of piano and music theory, which she attended for 7
years. Ann passed her entrance exams and started her general education at
Advanced Experimental Math/Physics School 315. After graduation from Music
School, Ann immediately took entrance exams to Special College of Foreign
Languages, where she studied for 2 years. Ann graduated second best in the
class of two hundred students at her Math School, and was accepted to the
Moscow Institute of Chemical Industry majoring in Technical Cybernetics and
Automation, where she got her MS in computer science. In the beginning of
1987, Ann Kan married Paul Krasner.
Ann and her husband left Russia in 1988 and immigrated to the United States,
leaving their families and friends behind. They settled in California,
making Los Angeles a new home. Three years later, Ann gave birth to their
daughter Danielle Krasner and in 1995 the family moved into their new house
in Malibu.
